The New York legal community’s most trusted and well-read periodical, the New York Law Journal, today published an article by the Foundation’s president, Andrew Sparkler, highlighting the prevalence of depression among attorneys and depression as the primary cause of most suicides. Andrew writes in response to media coverage of recent attorney suicides that seems to pin the cause of the attorney’s death on a single setback or traumatic event, but fails to discuss the epidemic of depression among attorneys.
