Thank you to all of our supporters, donors, guests and corporate sponsors for your generous contributions to the Dave Nee Foundation’s Fifth Annual Fundraiser: The Great Gatsby Gala. A great time was had by all and we appreciate all the support which helped make this year’s event a tremendous success. To date, we have collected over $100,000 to raise awareness of depression, eliminate the stigma associated with mental health issues, and prevent suicide. We have almost achieved our fundraising goal for the year – it’s not too late to make a donation to help our cause.

The Dave Nee Foundation develops and maintains programming that reaches out to hundreds of students annually; because of your support, we will be able to accomplish the following in 2011:
- We will continue to expand Uncommon Counsel, the only program of its kind in the nation that fights depression and prevents suicide among law students, a uniquely at risk yet underserved population;
- We will launch Law Lifeline, an innovative online resource for law students that, in addition to providing helpful information on pertinent resources, features a self-examination tool developed by physicians at Duke University Medical Center;
- We will begin our search to hire a part-time Executive Director; and
- We can make a larger restricted grant to an organization that promotes awareness and treatment of depression in adolescents.
Thank you again for your generosity and your belief in the Foundation. Dave Nee is missed by his friends and family every day, and we hope our efforts will help others recognize and treat depression and prevent another loss of a brilliant mind. Please keep talking to your friends and family about these issues – together we can let people know that depression is a serious disease that affects thousands of Americans and that treatment works.
As we do every year, we’re pleased to share some photos from the Gala!
