Introduction to the Dave Nee Foundation

People do not talk enough about depression and suicide. It is an issue that affects people of all backgrounds. It does not discriminate by gender, race, sexual orientation, education or income level. Anyone, from any background, can suffer from its debilitating effect.

• Nearly 1 in 10 Americans suffer from depression;
• On average, 80 Americans die by suicide every day.

The Foundation, comprised primarily of dedicated volunteers, has worked hard to reduce the stigma of depression and prevent suicide through its support of established organizations and its own direct advocacy.
